Serbia recently joined the "EQAVET" network (European Network for Quality Assurance in Vocational Education and Training). The general goal of the project "European Framework for Quality Assurance in Vocational Education and Training – National Reference Point" (EQAVET – NRP) is to lay the foundations for quality assurance in vocational education and training at the national level.
The project started implementation in April 2019 and will last until March 2021. The Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, under which the National Reference Point in Serbia was established, is implementing the project, but many activities will be carried out in close cooperation with the Agency for Qualifications.
Project partner countries will have the opportunity to strengthen their capacities for the full implementation of the Lisbon Convention on Recognition and to better understand its principles. They will also learn how to overcome the challenges they face in the recognition of foreign higher education qualifications. The project will create a basis for progress at the national level and encourage future joint cooperation in the field of recognition of foreign higher education qualifications.
Project activities are focused on:
- organizing a national conference;
- publishing dedicated web pages on the ministry's website and translating materials;
- conducting a study on national and European policies and quality assurance frameworks with a special focus on vocational education and training;
- organizing a second conference that will present the results of the analysis and activities of the "EQAVET" network and the National Reference Point;
- achieving synergy with the European Qualifications Framework and other relevant bodies at the national level.
